Update on spring works.

For those expectantly waiting for the strip to be mown as agreed at last meeting I have to inform you this is not going to happen now.

At the meeting I did explain reasons for moving the strip and produced diagrams to explain why this would be a good thing.

However when Clive, Paul and myself actual marked the strip out on the ground it was first realised that it could not be turn through more than 15 degrees. Any further and the approach path from the north comes to near the road.

On my diagrams the road is straight, in reality it is not there is a slight bend adjacent to the northern hedge of the field, nor is it parallel to the strip being closer at the northern end than the southern.

One aim of realigning the strip was to take the climb out path to the south west away from the farm, moving the strip only 15 degrees takes the climb out path to the right of the pond/coppice but straight at the farm buildings. The current alignment of the strip and pond gives a defined turning point for all operations to the south, this would be lost if the strip was turned only slightly, thus increasing the risk of models inadvertently over flying the farm.

If anybody wishes for a full explanation I will gladly go through it with him or her on the field.

The other planned work will go ahead. By the time you read a new pit area will have been mown please use it straight away.

The planned move of the grey container will hopefully happen within the next couple of weekends. We will be looking for helpers, as this is the major task needing manpower. Clive and Paul have the other tasks in hand but we will be looking for help with renewing the container door.

I look forward to your assistance with this and wish you all a happy and safe summers flying.

Best regards
